Welcome to Beloved Community Care, where we specialize in supporting participants with complex behaviours to access the community through the effective implementation of their Behaviour Support Plans. Our dedicated team is trained in behaviour management, emotional intelligence, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills to provide compassionate and tailored support. Led by our CEO, who personally conducts initial shifts with clients, we ensure the highest quality of care and personalized attention. At Beloved Community Care, we are committed to enhancing the well-being and independence of our clients through comprehensive and collaborative support.

Our Beloved Story

Beloved Community Care is a dream come true. After many years in the community services sector, I recognised significant issues in finding the right staff to support clients with behavioural issues, as well as finding an organisation that would take care of their staff as much as they cared for their clients. This discrepancy left a lasting impression on me, fuelling a vision for something better, something more compassionate and effective. Thus, Beloved Community Care was born.

In July 2022, Beloved Community Care was officially founded. The journey began in the remote and regional area of Far North Queensland, a place characterised by its breathtaking landscapes and equally formidable challenges. Here, we operated in the most difficult environments, facing issues such as lack of staffing, limited accessibility, and minimal knowledge about the NDIS system from participants and their families. Despite these obstacles, our commitment to providing exceptional care never wavered.

Launching in such a demanding area required great effort and resilience. Our first challenge was staffing. The remote location meant that finding and retaining qualified staff was a constant struggle. We had to innovate and adapt, focusing on comprehensive training programs to ensure that our team was not only skilled but also aligned with our values of compassion and dedication.

Accessibility posed another significant challenge. Many clients lived in isolated areas, making it difficult to reach them. We invested in transport solutions and community outreach programs to bridge this gap, ensuring that no one was left behind. Every journey to a client’s home became a testament to our unwavering commitment to service.

Educating the community about the NDIS system was perhaps our most monumental task. The limited knowledge about available services and support meant that many individuals were not receiving the help they needed. We organized workshops, information sessions, and one-on-one consultations to demystify the NDIS and empower our clients and their families. Each session was a step towards a more informed and supported community.

However, we soon realised that there were more communities in need of our services. With a vision to expand and help more people, we decided to relocate.

Beloved Community Care has now established itself in Victoria, servicing the Greater Melbourne Region. This new chapter in our journey brings with it new opportunities and challenges. Greater Melbourne offers a more diverse and populous environment, requiring us to adapt once again to meet the needs of a broader community.

Today, Beloved Community Care shines as a beacon of hope and compassion in the community services sector. We take immense pride in delivering exceptional customer service through the implementation of our 4 key innovative approaches. Our journey is far from over, and as we grow, we remain dedicated to reducing burnout, providing high-quality care and support to both our staff and clients, and delivering outstanding service to clients with complex behavioural needs.

As CEO, I endeavour to lead by example, personally going on shift before any team member. Karen Amato

With over seventeen years of experience spanning Disability, Aged Care, Community Services, and Vocational Education sectors, I am a driven and dedicated professional. My expertise lies in leadership, mentoring, training, program development, and innovation. This has allowed me to develop and implement a true person-centered approach in my disability support service organization, Beloved Community Care. I launched Beloved Community Care to provide specialised support for individuals with complex behaviours, empowering them to access the community and improve their quality of life. I am strongly committed to upholding the highest standards of service delivery and am passionate about empowering individuals and communities. My background in the Community Services sector, coupled with business experience, has equipped me to foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. This approach resonates deeply with the principles of servant leadership, perseverance, patience to achieve growth and sustainability as well as providing a compassionate environment for clients and staff alike.
